Very cool, but sad video for me. My Father recently passed away and was a Philadelphia fireman for almost 40 years as a Ladder-11 Tillerman. Funny story - he did the Mumbers Strut one time while tillering to a fire on the Mummers Parade route - he was that good of a driver after 30+ years. The crowd went wild and cheered him as did I....He was a great man, a hero, just like many others who do this job. Thank you for the video!

Yeah, I suppose if cross traffic is at a minimum. Which it appears to be. It's just such a large piece of apparatus I would think that one would want the maximum audible warning power all the time. Due to weight and stopping distance of this beast..
Great video!!

Great use of the Q at the intersection!

I've been down this street before. When I took my grandmother to see her sister I drove through this part of town. By the way, Reading, Pa is a beautiful place!

@johnanddan Most tiller steering systems have the ability to be pinned, allowing a mechanic, builder to drive the thing with one person.

You guys are crazy!! You only use the "real siren" for the ocassional intersection?? It's the only siren that actually works to move traffic !!
