"Di quella pira" from Il Trovatore (Verdi).
Impressive and impassionate performance. Enjoy!
But is it really true?

  • Very clever I love the editing with the added sostenuto on the two top notes... Very funny .... but clever!!!

  • Thanks!

  • There is no need for them to modify Bocelli's voice. The people who buy his music don't know what a true operatic voice should sound like anyways so Bocelli would sound good to them regardless.

  • He left us numerous real examples of his "C" but as with so many tenors, including this old guy, as his voice aged/darkened he lost the tip top of his voice. In return we tenors get a b-flat that is awesome. This is the normal course. Of course, there are many lighter/thinner tenors who maintain their top. It may not sound pretty anymore but they can still make it there.

  • This is phony. He had no high C and he was the first one to admit it. Also, the high B( because it is no high C) was doubled here in duration both times. it's phony and funny. Regardless, he was one of the best ever.

  • LOL!!! How funny!!! This recording was manipulated left and right. Caruso had no high C. There is no way on earth he could have sang a high C, let alone held a high C for that long. Domingo had the same problem. Pavarotti, of course, did not. Nice editing here and electronic pitch manipulating though.

  • The top notes in the original recording (and the was only one "Di quella pira" recorded by Caruso (in 1906)) are Bs.

  • @TheSmoshmy You know whats funny... I kinda agreed with you until I heard that first high note he held forever and it did put a lil menacing grin on my face. And I am an ass when it comes to singers over doing or giving extra extra extra value to long notes...but man that was pretty badass!

  • So silly. So unmusical.Holding onto high notes way past their correct duration is strictly for morons.General taste really has improved
