  • face it people. Calzaghe winning has nothing about Hopkins being black. or getting screwed over. Calzaghe is simply the better fighter.

  • too bad he couldnt back up all the shit he talked, looks like he lost to a white boy.

  • They should have rematched.

  • boxing royalty Calzaghe v bernard" the white boy" hopkins.LOL

  • the white boy that was funny he'll never live that down they should change his name to bernard the white boy hopkins,if he ever fights a brit the fans should just sout white boy over and over it is that funny what was he thinking,he just looks even more stupid than he alrady was

  • why didn't calzaghe wait till bhop was in his 50's, it would've been easier to defeat him.

  • @myoor12 hopkins was robbed.

  • @mizofan you're right, warren didn't help. it's great to see amir khan leaving his stable early.

but it's not about "US superiority complex", it's about a corrupt sport led by greedy federations which stop top fighters meeting each other - because some choose to milk the system.

joe was a world class fighter, but a fighter who never truly tested himself. boxing is the only sport i can think of where fighters can take liberties like that.

  • @badintentions2 Yes, Joe was high risk low reward to fight- yet so many of his detractors are unduly critical of him not fighting Hopkins earlier and the record needs setting straight. In any event, any decent contender he didn't fight over the years was beaten by someone he did- he dominated the division. And Joe only got proper attention in the US after demolishing Lacy- US superiority complex and insularity are largely responsible for the problem of making a name. Maybe Warren didn't help

  • @mizofan hopkins didnt 'chicken out' of it, joe was a high risk-low reward fighter who wasn't known outside of europe. why do you think it's always the fighters who fail to make a name and a rep in the states who always end up never getting defining fights against prime fighters?

ricky hatton showed how it was done by leaving warren and crossing the pond, and nobody is questioning his career or resume because of it.

it's not rocket science, its just understanding the business of boxing

  • @badintentions2 Yes there is a very good reason why Joe didn't fight Hopkins earlier- Hopkins chickened out when the fight was lined up, suddenly demanded a lot more money than originally agreed, knowing it was ridiculous. Then when they did fight, Hopkins showed his character, or lack of it, again, with his holding, butting and shameful faking to get a 5 minute rest, to avoid being exhausted and stopped. And a cry baby loser.

  • @R0ckyB4lboa how naive is that. calzaghe never went to the US and fought jonesd and hopkisn when they were in their prime. there's a good reason for that.
