Fucking idiots yes, but vile scum? That's a bit harsh. The tiniest amount of reddit users were subscribed to /r/jailbait. They are the vile scum, not the majority of reddit.

A lot of reddit is fine, but some of these abhorrent subreddits that people make are clearly extremely inappropriate and just vile. I can't believe that Reddit do not realise that, and continue to run them. Sometimes websites and companies policies are no where near strict enough, and sometimes I think that the Law needs to step in more often and check these sites like reddit for this hugely inappropriate content.

That's not entirely true. The average of 4chan isn't as vile as the worst of reddit.

Still, in reddit's defence, they canned jailbait and other related subs after it was clear cp was being sent around. Before that, nothing on that sub was illegal, just really sketchy.

There is a difference between caps spamming and free speech. Images with no text are everywhere - just not in adviceanimals. Neither of these examples in remotely relevant.

You're depending a site that begrudgingly banned child porn and openly allows rapists to post about the crimes they committed without banning the fuckers. And yet people criticising the site are wrong for being "stereotypical". What would you rather be; an apologist for paedophilia and rape, or someone who "stereotypes" a vile website?
