@brabon1 I really hate to break it to you, because there are a lot of shows I try to convince myself would 'be just as popular now' because I still see them through the eyes of a kid (as when I first saw them) ... but this is pretty laughable to anyone who is trying to watch it for the first time now. I mean, a balloon? Seriously?

@brabon1 the wire is a program for adults. brilliant in what it had to say, and how it said it...but still, only for adults
the prisoner was brilliant in that there was nothing like it on tv in britain or the states, and it could be watched by all ages
this is why it has lasted close to 50 years....and will continue, as parents will share the experience with their children
