Meet the Grizzlies!

Hearst Grizzly Gulch opens June 14th, 2007.

Ever since San Francisco Zoo keeper Deb Cano was a little girl, she was fascinated by animals. So much, that as a young girl, and even still today, her dad would call her "animal." Growing up just a few minutes away from the Zoo in Daly City, Cano developed a deep passion in caring for wildlife, as she surrounded herself with dogs, cats and horses. Her enthusiasm for animals would eventually lead her to a profession that she proudly describes as "my home away from home." Today, the veteran keeper is responsible for the care and health of the Zoo's polar bears, spectacled bears, Siberian and Sumatran tigers, snow leopards, fishing cats, ocelots, a river otter and our beloved grizzly bear sisters.
