so you can not use your tv? how about when you use splitters,1 to pc and 1 to tv? will that enable me to see my gameplay on my tv?

@senekal2 If the video and audio signals are going to both your TV and the capture device, you can watch the gameplay on both your TV and computer monitor.

for anyone having the Black screen when trying to display issue,

I had the same issue today, and it worked perfectly for me

Hold down the power button (reset/green button) for 10 seconds.

step 1. Make sure your ps3 is in stasis (red led display on power)

step 2. Hold down the reset button until you hear TWO, not one, but two, beeps. This will completely reset your ps3's display

step 3. Reset your honestech vhs to dvd program

step 4. Go into advanced setup

step 5. use laptop as tv screen!
