Guitar was tuned half step down, so I used to a capo instead of tuning back up. Hassle free.

Bro, not to be an over-achiever or anything, but this is all wrong. There is no capo. My guess would be that your tuned a step down. Your strum pattern is correct but sloppy. Your strings sound twangy and muted. Also slightly out of tune. The guitar your playing sounds like a mistreated Ovation Acoustic, or a cheap knock-off of one. I know this because I own one. Dude, congratulations, you've just slaughtered my favorite band's song.
