Antonio Trillanes IV ( 2007 Political TV Ad version 1 )

Antonio Fuentes Trillanes IV - is a Philippine military and political figure. His name surfaced in Philippine Headlines during the 2003 Oakwood Mutiny wherein a group of 321 armed soldiers who called themselves "Magdalo" led by Lt. Antonio Trillanes of the Philippine Navy took over the Oakwood Premier Ayala Center serviced apartment tower in Makati City to show the Filipino people the alleged corruption of the Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo administration.

Trillianes, filed for certificate of candidacy on February 7, 2007 to run as senator even though he is detained for sedition. And recently, the Genuine Opposition (GO) selected Trillanes as one its candidates which he accepted. Though in jail, he still communicates through Friendster like Francis Escudero and Francis Pangilinan who are both candidates under GO.

He received so many awards during his stay in High School and College and graduated cum laude. He studied also in the Philippine Military Academy in Baguio City.

As of June 4, 2007, Trillanes maintained the 11th place in the senatorial race, but was not included in the partial proclamation of 10 winning senators by the Commission on Elections because of narrow margin between the 11th, 12th, and 13th places. See results of the 2007 general election.

On June 15, 2007, Trillanes was eventually proclaimed as Senator-elect by the Commission on Elections after canvassing the certificates of canvass from Surigao del Norte, making him safe from being taken over by any candidate. As expected, he was beleaguered by his opponents and that the Arroyo government is trying to take his privileges as a Senator away from him by keeping him behind bars. The military court is pushing for his punishment and that includes his inability to attend any Senate conventions. He is even denied to use computers to do his work as a senator while still incarcerated.

On July 23, 2007, Trillanes' motion for an "arrangement" with the Makati RTC that would allow him to fulfill his duties as a senator while under detention and to allow him to attend the SONA, remained unacted upon (despite the more than 11 million Filipinos who voted him into the Senate, thus entitling him to at least a gate pass for Monday's SONA).On July 30, 2007, Judge Oscar Pimentel denied Trillanes' plea to be granted leave from detention to attend Senate sessions and to set up an office inside the Fort Bonifacio camp in Taguig City where he has been detained.

JPE said that Trillanes should not be charged for violating the Anti-Terror law since he is not even worthy to be called a Terrorist.
