End to Rohingya plight draws closer

If not exactly a breakthrough, the Bali Process on Human Trafficking this week has at least raised hopes that practical ways can be found to ease the plight of the Rohingya, a stateless Muslim tribe living under exceptional persecution in Myanmars Rahkine state.

The conference was only the third ministerial meeting of the summit, a little known grouping of 75 mostly Asian-Pacific countries and international agencies, such as the UNs refugee body. In this video report, the SCMP's chief Asia correspondent Greg Torode highlight the key aspects of the current dialogue on the Rohingya boat people situation.
