Frigid Mountains of Alaska
This was taken with a Canon HG10 from the window of a commercial plane. This video hopefully gives you a sense of how impressive the terrain looks. I shot this about 1 hour prior to landing in Anchorage - so these mountains are approximately 400 to 500 miles to the east south-east of Anchorage.

This can't be 500miles east of Anchorage since that would be Yukon Territory. I own property overlooking Matanuska Glacier & Chugach Range, 100-mles East of Anchorage: 600" per year snowfall!

thank you for posting....this is God at His best ....i remember in 79' flying from pittsb (pit) to manila we stopped at ohare then anchorage, narita, manila and i can remember as a child how amazed i was at the scenery landing in anchorage it was breathtaking! i will never forget it..thank you for the memories!!!!
