This aria by Sona Ghazarian is just gorgeous! I had been searching for more of her on You Tube after listening to her sing a couple of others. And I found this one. I have put it on my own favorites and sent it to 2 or 3 other lovers of operetta. Thank you for this posting. I became fascinated with operetta as a child and teenager, long before I got into grand opera. These gems of the past might not be performed much today, but when they appear, they enrich the music scene once again.

@OperaBuff1935 Hi ! I just discovered two difficult Arias by Ms. Ghazarian. The opera is called "Adriana in Siria". She sings them with such an astonishing Bravoura...! Just gorgeous.

This aria still has the same uplifting and calming effect on me as when I first heard Sona sing it. As one commenter puts it, it is brilliant and yet seems .effortless. Brava, diva Sona.

Brilliant!! Such an effortless and natural singing! She has a fascinating personalty and enormous stage presence.

I heard that she is teaching vocal technique and leading Voice Seminars, helping young singers! Just great !! But she is still an active singer herself!

Gosh! I didn't know she was in the USA - probably nowhere near me. Was she singing at a benefit concert or giving a master class? I met Sona on YT and just fell in love with her voice and presence. I could listen to this song over and over again and wear out the video - just like I used to wear out LPs of singers I loved so much in the '50's and '60's like Mario Lanza, Joni James, and others. Brava, diva Sona!

She sings with all the necessary dynamics, the words match her facial expression, her voice is clear, soft, sometimes energetic, to win the man she loves...She has her heart at the right place! I had a watch on her other various Clips--the Priority has always THE MUSIC ! BRAVA ! And thanks for the ART you offer us, for over 40 years...!! I heard Sona only this summer in the USA.
