@freddieofswe its about a cheap wine hahaha, nothing about a train at night or anythin, they used to get it for about $1 and when they wer walkin home steven shouted "im ont he nightrain" and it just went from there

Axl Rose wrote this in 1985 when Guns N' Roses were living in Los Angeles and playing gigs on the Sunset Strip. The song is about how they were so reckless, crazy and poor that the only alcohol they could afford was the Nightrain. After every show they would get drunk and walk back home singing the lyrics to "Nightrain" until it finally came together.

@lexusen I heard that the song came about after Izzy n Slash jammin in the van back to LA got everyone singing about the cheap shit wine they drank. Either way, both Slash n Izzy make this song work ...n Axl does his bit...duff nearly screws it up at the end though. Its all good, I dont think GnR even know how they wrote this song
