@soundseeker63 don't forget the 85s. These locos are well loved in SA, but are being converted to Class 18Es, and their distinctive resistance blowers are being replaced, so they just whine & click now.
That howling sound reminds me of the old New Haven Railroad EP-5s boosting out of New Haven in the late 60's. They were nicknamed "Jets" for obvious reasons! Brilliant! Electric traction at its best!! Thanks.
