  • @soundseeker63 don't forget the 85s. These locos are well loved in SA, but are being converted to Class 18Es, and their distinctive resistance blowers are being replaced, so they just whine & click now.

  • Cool, it sounds a bit like one of the old BR class AL1 "roarers" as they were nicknamed back in the day.

  • I just love the woo-ing sound of the cooling fans. Wish I was living next to a railway line

  • Just because the head is orange, and the followers are light yellow with silver, so attractive and sharp, so i like it !! ~~

  • That  howling sound reminds me of the old New Haven Railroad EP-5s boosting out of New Haven in the late 60's. They were nicknamed "Jets" for obvious reasons! Brilliant! Electric traction at its best!! Thanks.
