I've left this one up since it's still circulating among people. Just to be safe! I've linked it to the new version.

My throat/sinuses were already swollen/infected the day of recording, and now I'm officially sick; sorry it's not 100%! :( Illness strikes at all the wrong times! Did what I could to clear it up though. An original song I submitted for a nation-wide contest.

I haven't had any formal music training, so my songs are a by-ear type of thing. but hey, that way it's all natural!

This song is written and performed by myself (Kyle Solner).

Lyrics:
My friend's been looking for a job
He didn't know where to go
I told him he should come apply
To good old Home Depot

Asked, what's it like there, anyway?
Are the employees nice?
I said, first of all, they're called associates
Then I gave my advice

Lowe's is known to be real slow
And Ace ain't my place
Menards is a bunch of... fools
But Home Depot's great

You'll walk in first day, get your apron on
It feels so great that I made a song
I wish you knew the words so you could sing along
But soon enough you will, it won't be too long

Which department's for you? Pick a number
Maybe 22 or maybe 21, Lumber
I'm in 96, 24's Paint
29 Appliances, Garden's 28

26, 25, maybe 23: that's plumbing, hardware, and flooring
Bet you'll go electrical knowing your tale
But those are just departments involved in sales

Once you pick one out, then you'll need to learn
Where everything is so you don't get burned
When a customers asks, you'll put them FIRST
If you know where it all is
It'll go something like this:

Aisle 1's light bulbs, aisle 2's the glue, aisle 3's got paint, and 4 does too
Aisle 5 has blinds, aisle 6 wood flooring, aisle 7's got tile, aisle 8's real boring
Aisle 9's got carpet, 10 some shelves, 11 water heaters, PVC in 12
13 air filters, 14 flashlights 15 most tools, 16 sale signs
17 rope and chain, drywall 18, 19 2x4's, 20 plywood sheets
21 insulation, 22 mortar mix, 23 concrete, 24 chain links
25 deck boards, and so much more
That's just the first half,
If there was time, I'd tell you the rest!

CHORUS
I don't know you've been told
But I was born orange in my soul
I'll always know where I should go
Home Depot

We'll match any price; customers first
Take my advice; so much to learn
By now you should know where to go
Home Depot

And always try, because sometimes
Customers like Consumer Credit Cards
Never forget to tell them
If paid full in 6 months, no interest
But I digress (sometimes 12)

You'll learn some terms, first things first
The first term's first, a word well-served
Find, inquire, respect, and solve
Thank each customer with whom you talk

Now you can talk the talk, but can you walk the walk?
And if you walk the halls, do you know all in all
All the great things we sell, or just a few
Here's a sample I've made for you:

Garage door openers, light bulbs, ropes, hangers, bungee cords, clamps, doors, storage drawers, resin planters
Post hole diggers, refrigerators, generators, circuit breakers, ice, coffee, waffle makers, toilet paper, flooring nailers
Toilet seats, flooring cleats, .... storage keeps, fertilizer, stud finders, outdoor heavy-duty timers
Drywall, pinesol, any kind of miter saw, mouse traps, pet flaps, thumb tacks, house plants
Ladders and hammers and hand saws and clampers
And new paint and wood stain and blue-shaded planters
And at home services at your door any time you need them
Who could ask for more?
... not me!

I don't know you've been told
But I was born orange in my soul
I'll always know where I should go
Home Depot
We'll match any price, customers first
Take my advice; so much to learn
By now you should know where to go
Home Depot

Home Depot is the place to be
So much to do, so much to see
So much to learn, so come with me
To Home Depot
You have all the tools you will need
You'll pave the way, be improving
You know what it takes to succeed
More Saving, More doing
That's the power of the Home Depot

... But what do I know, because I'm just a lot guy! [ just kidding! :) ]
