  • There is one version of the Kalusan found in Philippine Music Horizons book. It goes like: " Us nga an kaluhen, Paariñin..." Hehe correct me if Im wrong, Im a Waray:)

  • I think Kalusan is one of the genres, it's the song where people sing when the Ivatan people work in the farm. Hence it can has various lyrics even if in one ryhthm, it goes with the singer's mood. Beautiful Indigenous culture, it's similar everywhere in the Indigenous villages.

  • what do you mean with similay everywhere in the indigenous villages? I don't quite agree with that. The ivatan oral tradition (kindly correct me) is uniquely Ivatan. THe aetas and mangyan don't have the kalusan or laji. But thanks to this post

  • hello to the Uyugan singers. Ari ko na tumanitanis du kadngey ko aya dino (antie Yanang and company kapyan kamu nu dyios dauri atavu. long live the original songs of Batanes

  • Hi Patagaw...This was indeed entrancing and quite beautiful...will share it with my mom. I'm wondering if she remembers it...Aloha, June

  • Very nice. I love indigenous culture, and too bad it is being neglected.
