Renewable Energy for a Better Tomorrow: Understanding Green Energy

As the more traditional sources of energy are slowly being depleted, experts are looking for ways to find and create energy that does not affect the energy sources of the succeeding generations. Renewable energy—also known as green electricity or, in some cases, home made energy—is one of the answers experts have found regarding this issue. Pretty much what the term implies, a renewable energy source cannot be depleted and can be created, hence not posing as a threat to the energy sources of the next generation.

In short, while traditional sources of energy can run out, green energy solutions can be generated without any major adverse impact on the environment. Besides the fact that continuous usage of fuel can affect future generations, using traditional energy sources can also produce waste (for instance, using fuel can create gas pollutants). Renewable sources are also called clean energy; the distinction between the two energy sources shows why.

But using solar power energy or renewable energy wind (examples of a renewable energy source) also has economic benefits. For one, it creates a new industry—which means an increase in job generation. Generally speaking, however, the use of renewable sources can minimize a nation's dependence on traditional energy sources. For instance, while America produces almost 10 million barrels of oil a day (enough to place it on the list of top oil producers in the world), it consumes 20 million barrels. By using green sources of energy, the country can reduce its oil usage to minimize the discrepancy between the country's oil consumption and oil production.

The benefit of using green electricity can be significant. China is a prime example of this, as the country is trying to become completely green in the next two decades. The use of renewable energy has helped China in its quest for economic dominance (the country produces more oil than it uses). Recently, this proves that renewable energy has environmental and economical benefits.
