Actually most historians agree that Queen Elizabeth did not have much power. But was instead used by the Protestant aristocrats who were the real ones in control at the time. Thats why the Catholics tried to put Mary, her sister in power. During that time in English history, the monarchs had been reduced to more like figureheads with the aristocrats pulling the strings. An experiment in a Sheocracy would never turn out well. Woman was made from Man to be his helpmeet.
