Continuing Tests Of my Earth Battery .. the point being .. to try and see if, as in the early days of "The Telegraph", we can harness a useful amount of energy from our soil & other objects.

Not an electrician, so am learning from step one ...

Looks like older & larger trees with deeper roots will offer a better return ..

Fencing? .. with a few attached added probes we may get a better result ..

The Earth Battery seems to offer The Best prospect for gathering Free Earth Energy ;#))

Coppicing Trees ..

It's known that Young growth pulls in More Carbon than established trees.

Where Scots Pine Is the best known tree in the UK, to Fix Carbon .. it's very slow growing ... and offers no added cyclical benefit ...

... where Growing Ash, which Is the next best UK tree for Fixing Carbon ... offers the benefit of many new poles in a 5 year cycle ..

Squier's research (1919) found the best nail placement to be at approximately 2/3 tree height. Interesting that you found a difference with galvanized vs. plain steel. I ran something similar last Summer and got no difference between the two.
