  • Very nice narration of this poem. As bamdaad has noted, the narrator has a very warm voice, and she reads the poem very eloquently. Well her voice reminds me very much of the voice of Shiva Rose, who played in 2008 David and Rose. I wonder if this is she that is narrating this poem. Anyhow whoever it is, this is a nice work. Please keep up the good work. thanks.

  • @frankahmadi

    Thank you Frank,

Your comments are greatly appreciated. The Voice Actress who recites the poetry is Joan Mullaney. She resides in NY. She is one of the most talented Voice Actresses in the United States. The poems in the documentary were translated by Hassan A. Sherkat, the filmmaker. Thank you again for your kind words.

    Regards,

  • Hedayat was an incredible writer. His Blind Owl is a masterpiece in Iranian literature.

  • The wine is the symbol of God's presence. The cup is our heart, that when emptied, it can be filled with him. I was once asked by someone: "why don't you drink? don't you need a high?" I replied: "I was born high". We don't need to drink to get drunk (The American Indian). There is such a thing as spiritual intoxication which is an eye opener. The path begins like the first shot the dentist gives to numb your gum. The second shot is the real one, and then your fears become numb..

  • If you like Hedayat, check out his wikipedia page and scroll down to the very bottom for some good links to visit.

  • Type of government is not that important for Iran. What is important for Iran is a change of heart. Shah is dead and buried. Khomenie is dead and buried. Muhammad is dead and buried. Christ Jesus is alive, and He is God.

  • Happy Birthday Mr. Hedayat. Thank you for all your beautiful contributions to literature, to education, and to humanity.

  • Can I find the blind owl as pdf form anywhere in the net?

  • @mofarahi , forget your islam, lol, wine was usef in old iranian mystic ceremonies thousends of years before islam, inthe mysthic MITHRAisam so plz plz stop islamize everything, why people like you never go and study old iranian philosohy and history, if you would do that you would understand CANDLE, WINE, ruine and all other.... used in poems od khayaam or mevlana are much deeper rooted in old iranian beliefs

  • I have composed a song for Khayyam and wanted to make a video about it and post it however I have not found suitable people to be in the video. This video gave me a lot of inspiration. Thanks
