The relationship Swearengen has with Wu gives such great depth to his character. Even though they live in racial times, Al Swearengen respects,likes and almost treats Wu as friend and equal. Actually, I think if the times allowed, he would be friends with Wu openly. The scene at the end where he puts his hand on Wu's back as he goes out the back door(with Wu looking Al in the eye) seems to tell a deeper story.

This is a nice distillation of a single story arc, but the aspect ratio is wrong. The original was 16:9 widescreen, but it has been squashed into 4:3.
