This is a rendition of the classic song "We Are Australian" by rock n' roll band Lo-Tel. This is a song worthy of praise in my opinion.

I don't know if I can be proud of something I did not choose. If people were born in Germany, would they then be proud Australians? Or in America, then proud Americans. I am not a monarchist, and nationalism smacks to me of the privilege of birthright, where someone is given status purely by virtue of their birth.

I will love some things about this country and hate other things, however pride? Seems silly to me, for neither the good, nor the bad, am I responsible for.
