  • This was MY band, MY era of early-mid college. I saw them six times with Bob playing guitar, and six times after when it was never the same. Still amazing. My band tried to cover this song in college, and though I had an ace guitarist, he (and others after) could never figure out some of Westerburg's tunings and intro chords. God I miss Bob, too. Last show I saw him was Madison, WI during this tour.

Peace to all Replacements fans. Support Paul now!

  • The Replacements are one of those bands, where I just listen to them and think ''I CAN'T BELIEVE A BAND THIS GOOD EXISTED''.

  • I love this band, im 23, my parents are 25 years older than I am. But, age wise, this was probably Justin Bieber to my parents (who is 17 at the time)

  • so damn good its breath taking. so damn awful its histaricle. thats the 'mats for ya. greatest rock n roll band ever.

  • they really are the last great band

  • saw them open for X and Husker Du and many times as openers themselves. nobody did it like the Mats

  • Damn... 25 years later and this shit still kicks my ass every time... God bless The Replacements and fuck everybody else!

  • A band indeed did this good existed... and somewhere something failed which allowed them to become less known.

  • I'm 53 yrs old and I don't think any band except maybe The Kinks ever affected me the way they did.

Thank you Replacements for all the honesty that you put out there!

  • Sure miss the 'mats.

  • @thielees

funny enough, 10 years later you could make a million dollars trying to sound like this.

Problem is, none of those later bands had the rough punk rock quality that made these songs so perfect.

  • Bob embodied the spirit of the band better than any of the other three. I don't mean showing up drunk and playing sloppily. I mean being an underdog with no chance of making it big, knowing it full well, and not being particularly bothered about it. Paul has a lot more Mick Jagger in him than he'd ever like to admit.
