@colourmegone Hedges' latest book, entitled "THE EMPIRE OF ILLUSION, The End of Literacy and the Triumph of Spectacle" has the historical understanding you purport to long for. The spectacle of "they stone people to death for criticisiing them" is one prominent example of how Corporate Media infuses people with images of a parallel reality with its concomitant emotion, hatred. The newswires flash images and pseudo-news devoid of contextual understanding, deliberately, for dark purposes.

@colourmegone The largest and most powerful CORPORATIONS are run by ruthless human beings, influenced and seduced by Satan, in their quest to satisfy their lust for power (demagogue status) with PROFIT as their bottom line. Your simplistic deduction that "corporations are run by human beings for human beings" is misguided at best, and manipulative at worst. You are deliberate in your seduction of others, fomenting the same hatred of Islam and the Muslin world as the CORPORATE Media. Why?

He says, "the belief that massive, catastrophic violence can be used as a cleansing agent to purge the world," is an atheistic is very common to totalitarian movements...
Um...
Chris, you did go to Seminary... did you NOT read the Old Testament?
-
@liveguns If Islam is the best hope against the corporations then "Long live the Corporations". At least their oppression is only economic, they don't stone people to death for criticising them. And corporations are run by human beings for human beings so why would 'humanity', in the general sense, need a last hope agains them?

The views of Christianity expressed by Mr Hedges as mainstream are extremely naive. Christianity has been an imperial religion since its adoption as a state religion by the Roman Empire. Dominionism is simply the modern Protestant version. And America has always seen itself as an empire, it was created in the 'Age of Empire' and was part of the British Empire. New York proudly calls itself the Empire State; US expansion to the west was trumpeted as the founding of the New American Empire.

muslim's are humanity's last hope against the corporations.... why do you think they are attacking them and murdering them indiscriminately ?
i prey americans military continues to fail and doesn't achieve any of their goals over seas.

@duthangaudio i agree with you but please dont put "ding...round 1" because you end up sounding like a cock

Way to go, Chris Hedges, you are brave!
this war on terror isn't going to stop terrorism. it will only bring the children of the men we kill now to attack us latter.
judeo/christian/islamic faiths are grounded in this "grudge" "revenge" type of mind set
its not like we can out spend them like we did the soviets, if we could the fight would have been over no the flight oversea's
Nuclear war is something that the far right is waving around as an option
and to get the results they want genocide of all arab/muslims is a must

Yes! No Christian can explain to me how it is that we are able to chastize other nations of having WMD's, and yet they will trust our own government without question to use the same devistating powers as they see fit. I don't trust our federal government with that kind of power; they can't even do the most basic of things correctly.
