Can you teach me how to regulate the period of oscillation? By manipulating the weight or the length of the pendulum?

The higher the weight (the disk) is on the pendulum the faster the clock runs. There is a threaded rod on bottom of the pendulum that allows me to raise or lower the weight to control the speed of the clock. The rectangular weight hanging on the string is the stored energy that drives the clock. Once a day I have to raise the weight back up to the top and then gravity pulls it back down. This is what drives the clock.
