That "car" is no where near going over the "cliff". Religious zealouts have been far worse in the past and the percentage of secular and atheists is the largest it has ever been, it's just that you hear more from the zealots from the different media sources now. As long as the moderate Christians can have their tax breaks for the churches, "In God We Trust" on currency and stuff like that, they'll be satisfied. They themselves don't want a theocracy.

In my opinion, you are the best type of atheist. I agree: 1/ An atheist shouldn't raise their hand. 2/ We should fight on the field of ideas and use our voice. 3/ Yes, atheists in America need to march in numbers (they haven't done that yet). 4/The kind of politicians the Americans need. 5/ 7:34, "You shouldn't be worried about the opinions of idiots." (I should take that advice more to heart).

@dewinthemorning Well (thanks to George W. Bush, and the Republicans, for offering Sarah Palin as vice President) America has its first black President (something I thought I would not live to see). So, there is hope that the "car" on the edge of the cliff is tipping back to safety, but it is a fine balance. And Sarah Palin is still hungry.
As for the opinions of idiots, it's just dogs barking at the Moon. You cannot blame a dog for not comprehending the Moon. They should be pitied. :)
