@ktkilla08 GOOOD YOU GET AND THAT'S ALL THAT COUNTS AND/OR MATTERS AS WHEN I WAS YOUR AGE WE OR A GROUP OF US WOULD LISTEN TO EARTH, WIND& FIRE, ISLEY BROTHERS, O'JAYS AND THE LIKE AND THE OLDER GENERATIONS OF THAT DAY AND AGE/TIME WOULD WONDER HOW WE'D GET THEIR MUSIC OR MUSIC OF THAT DAY BUT WE DID! THEY'D CALL US YOUNG/OLD PEOPLE AND ALTHOUGH I WON'T CALL YOU THAT; I'M JUST AS I SAID THANKFUL THAT YA'LL GET IT IS ALL!

@AdamMC88 SPOT ON WITH YOUR ANALOGY OF THIS SONG AND PROFOUND TOO ISN'T IT? NOT TO MENTION IT'S TRUE!

@Chrisfathead and "clearly" people have already answered my question. so why you've chosen to be rude is beyond me.
-
Are you joking? I've never heard a song where the meaning was more clear.

@ohsotasty08 Possum playing aka "apparent death" where a possum plays dead in order to get predators to leave it alone. Maxwell has hinted in the past that he had lost a woman in his life. I see the "possum playing" as he hasn't quite accepted that she is gone, and is coaxing her to come back, "wake up baby."

I'm only 14 but when me any my cousin listened to this song on his album it really gave me the chills. Our generation lacks artist with such soul that Maxwell brings to the table. I understand the roots of real music and Maxwell is the true definition of "Real Music"!
