@BrentMan870 Well, I clearly remember Macca saying it was about LSD and Lennon made that whole "Julian's drawning" story up. Whatever the truth is, it describes a strong acid experience very well.

@mellowlanternquartet And to back that up, When John Lennon was a younger boy he loved Alice in Wonderland It makes perfect since that he'd put the colorful background of the book into a song, but some people wanna say it was about an LSD trip when all reality when he wrote this song he had been clean because of his new found interest in Hinduism
