My Child Hates Her Step Family

My 13 year old daughter is not adjusting so well to my re-marriage. My step sons, ages 9 and 12, live with us part-time but when they're here she sulks around the house just ignoring all of us. What should I do about this?

"Blended families" are, for the most part, not healthy or normal, and parents who would decide to completely upset their kid's environment for their own romantic happiness are unfit to be parents.

i never liked my step father or sibling's its called you belong to your own not other's its normal

@mrxsill3 thank-you! I am glad you agree with me. Sometimes when children are angry at how their parents treated them, they are mean to others without meaning to be. But all children need positive adults/guardians in their lives. I am glad you are trying. Good luck with this and hope things get better. Some day hopefully they will learn that there are in fact some loving parents, guardians, and even step-parents. They are lucky if they have them. Not so many are this lucky.

I don't agree with you. why not the step kids are evil. I'm a stepmother of 2 kids 13 & 16 yrs old. Six yrs ago their mom throw them over to us. I hated them so much they are so lazy, dirty an very disrespected. Especially the older one she always steal our money. But i never lay a hand on them, cause i don't think these kids worth for me to risk my whole life in jail for them. So, can u tell me are the kids evil or the stepmother?

I don't agree with you. Not all steps are evil and abusive. I am a step mother of two kids. Six yrs ago their mom throw them over to us, they were 7 & 10 yrs old. I hated them so much cause they are so thirty, lazy, and very disrespect, especially the older one always steal our money. But i never lay a hand on them. cause i am not stupid. these kids not worth for me to risk my whole life on them. So can u please tell me are the kids evil or the step mom?

@dustcurrington perfect words!!! couldnt say it better I always sufer (sorry for my english) for my step familys mi moms and dads it sucks why we they do that...why can you have your relationship with what ever person without me Im not interested meeting him or her...!!!!!!!! why can parents understand that!!!! respect your children to know when is the right time to know them...learn how to separate your relationships!! ...sorry this is not my favorite subject

Most step-parents are evil and very abusive. I don't think ANY child should have to live with step-parents. It is so unfair to a little child. I should know. I was abused by my step-father for so long that I developed some horribe health problems and have to live on disability now. My step-mother was a little better, but she had bi-polar disorder and could really be mean. I only get along with one of my step-sisters. The others don't understand me too well. *sigh*

the kid sounds spoiled and hates the fact he/she has to share the mom now

the other kids are probaly jerks to her and the mom doesnt care but then wonders why she hates all of them
