Amiga Game, Burnout by Mark Sheeky/Scorpius and released by Vulcan software 1996.

This game seems inspired by the Amiga PD game Knockout, but fails at recreating it. Lots of effort has gone into the gfx but not much else. As a commercial game, it fails, but as part of the vulcan collection, its worth a few goes. This was released for around 15-20 Pounds. Even in multiplayer though, I think id still choose Knockout.

I have completed the game in 10 mins, their is no real end sequence for it though. AGA Amiga with 6mb ram and a hd is required. The standalone game comes on 7 floppies !

The game seems to use a strange interlacing effect which WinUAE cant properly cope with and unfortunatly, Video quality has suffered as I try to get round it by not using line doubling and ramping framerate upto 60fps to try and counteract the flicker, but hopefully not unwatchable.

  • with few players it was a lot of fun, even though game looks so simple :)

  • Looks awful

  • Knockout was so addictive, I loved it. Never played this but it doesn't look like I missed out on much =)
