Hi Folks, 1973, written on the package of a sanitary napkin! It was on the first country music albums recorded by Atlantic records. Atlantic was the R&B/jazz label that Willie's friend Ray Charles recorded a lot if huts for. The album is considered to be one of the first 'Outlaw' country albums. Gotta love it! Jay
The only time I have seen Willie in concert was when he was playing as the opening act for the Dead at Riverport in St Louis. Fantastic show, and he also stayed on stage with the Dead and played with them for half their set. Awesome show.
Love it; I remember when that song came out. We have been following Willie since then. We caught him last at Billy Bob's in Fort Worth....great show as always.
