The Bible consistently makes a distinction between two groups of people that make up the entire world - the Jews and the Gentiles. If "world" in Joh 3:16 was meant to refer not only to the Jews but also the uncircumcised Gentiles, wouldn't that mean that it refers to the entire human race, bearing in mind that the world consists of both Jews and uncircumcised Gentiles? Or does "world only refer to SOME Jews and SOME Gentiles?
@lessingtom my dear friend. John 3:16 says world because Jesus was talking to a Jewish Rabbi Niccadumeas (sorry wrong spelling lol) How would a Jew of that time view the "world" He would view the uncircamsized gentials. Jesus was saying he was saving the "world" evening people who aren't jewish. I can say "America loves Football" that doesn't mean every single person loves football. Just as Jesus died for the world, not every individual.
you cannot serve both God and money youll love one more than the other!!! the prosperity gospel is no gospel at all. i am determined to hear nothing amoung you except Christ crucified!!! do not store up your treasures on earth where moth and rust destroy store them up in heaven!!! if any one deshire to come after Me let him deny himself pick up his cross and follow Me!!! repent of your idols and wickedness and trust alone in the only begotten Son of God Jesus Christ!!!
>lessingtom: I listen to John Piper and Paul Washer. I love their ministry and their passion & zeal for Christ! I don't know much about John M. Their love for the Gospel and for Christ is too obvious and I am certainly not implying in the negative. I myself used to condemn prosperity Gospel preachers earlier until God convicted me and you can see more of my posts with passages that spoke to my heart. See also Mt 26:51-54. 52:"Put you sword back...all who draw the sword will die by the sword".
Would you take drastic measures to save your child from drug addiction or would you tell him/her: "O I love you so much and I'm so scared that you may feel that I hate you if I should warn you against drugs, that I've decided to do nothing but just love you."
Yes, and so did Paul waste his time when spent more than two thirds of his epistles to warn his brethren against false apostles and teachers. I suppose you would argue that he did not present the Gospel in its purity of LOVE (Agape) when he wrote: "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed." (Gal 1:8). Do you know what "accursed" means?
My humble appeal to my brothers in Christ is to ** stop wasting your time and energy ** condemning fellow brothers in Christ. Just present the Gospel in all its purity of LOVE (Agape). Let God alone be Judge.
Quoting 28 onwards: 28 “‘An enemy did this,’ he replied. “The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’ **** 29 “‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’” ****
Mark 9:38-41 - 38 “Teacher,” said John, “we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us.” 39 “Do not stop him,” Jesus said. “For no one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me, 40 for whoever is not against us is for us. 41 Truly I tell you, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to the Messiah will certainly not lose their reward."

So start believing that John 3:16 means what it means, which is that Christ died for everyone and not only the elect.
