Sneak peak of "Terminator 5: Rise of the Marsupials."

This is the Robot Kangaroo footage I sent to Doug Mitchel, Chris Noonan and Bill and George Miller in 1992 to prove realistic talking animals were possible for the movie Babe and help win the contract for 11 talking animal characters.
My design for "The Ruminator" talking roo was the logo for my company "Robotechnology".
The animatronic mechanisms and control systems for all roos were all built by my company Robotechnology with my partners Chris Chitty and Matt Ward.
We had set up Robotechnology to produce animatronics and work closely with the sculpting and modelling company of my good friend John Cox.
It was simple. John did the outside bits. We did the inside bits and we all pushed each other hard to get good results.

When we worked on "Babe, the Gallant Pig", the arrangement was the same. John did the outside bits, we did the insides.
Before kangaroo kid, we had all worked together producing animatronic characters for Warner Bros movie world

The Roos were sculpted by Belinda Villani and foam latex rubber skins and flock furring and finish by John and his crew.

At robotech, I built all the kangaroo heads myself and worked with Matt, Chris, George Reekie and Tim Gregg, with Aidan O'Keefe and Chris O' Dwyer on body mechs.
I ad-libbed the ruminator dialog and performed the lipsynch live. i also airbrushed the ruminator's paint finish for both mechanical parts and kangaroo colouring
