As far as I am concerned, Galax has been a place for the best kind of creative progressive bluegrass jam sessions while the pure old time tradition being well preserved. Both aspects were equally respected there,although we all have indivisual prefferance in music. I have been an eyewittness since 1979.
I hope that open minded spirits would remain there.

@rmabe2004 and @jabeshears . . . are you serious? Galax is about many things. Oldtime, bluegrass, and weirdgrass. Rex can do all three with real style. And trying to insult him be calling him "Bela" only shows yer ignorance; single string banjo is not the provenance of Bela Fleck alone.

Rex McGee is a Real McCoy and an exceptional talent in banjo music, I think.
