awesome!!! we played this song with the Vi-Crons back in the 60s, we were hot, like the Mann Band. no sound enahancements, just plug in and go, yet we new how to balance mucic, vocals and haromony. all the kids could do it back then, heck, it was kid stuff.

No they just yell about how horny they are.

this would be the perfect wedding march song

Of course it's not from the Sullivan show - one look at the set would suffice for that. Paul Jones was one of the great charismatic frontmen, and Manfred was - well - predictable in his forlorn attempts to inject himself visually into the proceedings.

Look at the difference in overall intensity between today's pop acts and that of the "Golden Age." The way the "old" bands behaved while performing is considered to be corny by most of today's generation. (The way they danced, bounced, shook the maracas, etc...) The thing is though is that they were so psyched that they weren't able to physically hold themselves together. They were psyched because they made it big by BEING FUCKING GOOD. Not because all they had was a nice set of breasts!

to midi man, you're right. This is definitely not Ed Sullivan. However they are NOT lip syncing. They played it live a whole step higher than the recording. This was when bands were good so Im not surprised you thought they were lip syncing

@Kali1050 you hit the nail on the head. want no talent? tune into modern music.

@midiman56 Who gives a rats ass imagine back then with the audience screaming how bad the audio would sound
-
@midiman56 That is not true. Many acts on Sullivan lip synced including the Mamas and the Papas.

Maybe its because they are from the same era. An era when songs made some sense, singers could actually sing and musicians could play their instruments.
Unlike the present era where pop songs make no sense and the performers have NO TALENT just an ability to make a horrible NOISE.

Great video ... but NO WAY this is from the Sullivan Show. For one thing, Sullivan insisted that all acts perform live on stage and these guys are obviously lip syncing. For another, the stage of the Ed Sullivan theater was huge! This video is being shot on some crappy little studio set somewhere. Still ... great video of a great song!
