@ladytexan48 Little late on the reply, but I was stuck at a friends house on Gen. George Patton. We lucked out and were in one of the few houses that didn't get flooded out... but only by inches. The water stopped literally a couple of inches away from his doorstep. It was a relief... but then you look a few feet away and see that the houses next door had 3-4' of water inside. You feel glad that your okay... but then you look around and see that everyone else lost everything. It was surreal.

Willy, yeah... the debris is piled in people's yards.
Opryland and other businesses are wrecked. It's not just Nashville either. I have friends who live in Ashland city. Their tractor was under 6' water but they did manage to save the horses.
It's a economic disaster for TN.
It pales in comparison to the crisis in the Gulf. Just found out why they're having such trouble fixing the gush. The methane gas that's being released freezes forming crystals clogging lines used to siphon the oil.

@willyboxc I've been working with a cleaning and restoration crew since the storm and I now think if I had a choice between having my house flooded with 4-6 feet of water and having a tornado take it away, I'd choose the tornado. It's over quicker and doesn't leave as big of a mess afterward. We get plenty of our share of tornadoes around here as well and having had a good friend have his house taken by one, I wouldn't wish either one on anybody. They are both scary and messy and expensive.
What's worse than seeing this is now seeing the mountains of debris on the streets that was once people's lives. With 4-6 feet of water in homes, most lost everything they owned. Clothes, furniture, appliances, electronics, not to mention carpets, drywall, flooring, cabinets, interior doors. It's a big mess. The flood pictures don't do it justice. Tens of thousands of lives were affected by this storm. Media or not, Tennesseans are helping Tennesseans and we will all rebuild.

@rockinredneck57 That is unreal when you think about how much water damages.. i dont know which is worse Flooding damage or tornado damage.. i would say both are pretty destructive, but this was a huge scale this happened on normally you wouldnt see flooding across such a wide area.. from memphis to nashville.. we all got hit pretty hard.. i hope it creates jobs, and helps renew the community instead of destorying it..

I live in Granbury, Texas. I have an Aunt and Uncle that live on Gen. George Patton. They too lost everything. Thanks for your reply. I was just heartbroken when I watched all this happening. They are living with relatives in other parts of Nashville now.
