Ambassador Scobey on Nile TV

On December 14, 2009, Ambassador Scobey traveled to Gharbiya governorate to learn more about the governorate and discuss areas of mutual interest and future cooperation. She met with the Governor of Gharbiya, General Abdel Hamid El Shenawy, then visited a Al Salaam Language School where she discussed books with children in the school library and toured the science labs. She also met with the President of Tanta University, Dr. Abdul Fattah Sadaka and discussed possible areas of future cooperation in the educational field. Afterwards, she met with participants in a project of the Justice Center for Human Rights Association aimed at supporting women who would like to run for political office. Her final visit in the governorate was to El Shazly Commercial Dairy, owned and operated by Mr. Sayed El Shazly, where she discussed their on-going cooperation with the U.S. Grains Council and the American Soybean Association, and their herd of American Holstein cattle.
