are those just stright exhaust pipes or did you put any baffels in them?

@bwn60 i rebuilt the carbs and it has no problems now, turned out to be burnt valves. now it has bent shift forks. can you give me detailed info on how to replace them? i dont have 2 grand to blow at a shop for a bike i paid 40 bucks for

Sounds like your floats are sticking in the carb bowls. The carbs should probably be taken apart and thoroughly cleaned. I always let the petcock open on my bike with no problems..

@bwn60 Thx, I was thinking about fiberglass. Did you make the seat yourself as wel? I realy like the bike, you did a great job!

Hey how did you get THE modified rear vender?

@seni75 , We took the stock fender and cut the tailight arch off it. The we used fiberglass with a wire mesh to help hold the shape and covered the tail light hole. Then we used some bondo on the show-surface of the fender to smooth out the glass.

i just bought an 83 vt750c for 40 bucks, it has no compression in the rear clinder and it needs to be rewired but im stoked to get it built. what kind of bars did you use? i like them alot i was thinking of taking mountain bike bars and bending them a little and moving the foot pegs back for a more racy feel but idk yet... any ideas??

@epiphonehtm The bars are just a straight piece of pipe 7/8" seamless tubing. The whole build is documented here at w w w. honda shadow. net / forum/viewtopic.php?t=63942&highlight=shadow+500+project
p.s. take out all the spaces in the abbove web address...

Apologies for not answering questions sooner...
The exhaust I made myself. This video has no baffles in the exhaust. I later put some in for about $25
Tank - these are GREAT bikes to start out on, both from a riding and modifying perspective.Easy t oride and they have a lot or potential for modding.
Sadly I had to sell this bike this past summer to pay bills :( but I'll try to answer any questions that I can :)
