Combate kendo aparecido en la TV americana. Año 1950 aprox

Combate de kendo que apareció en una tv americana (creo).
Parece ser que antes se permitía meter la pierna, golpear en el suelo y lo ,ás intresante, desarmar al contrario con un golpe en el tsuba.

todavia se puede atacar cuando el oponente esta en el suelo y el desarme es valido, lo que si ya no se permite es el golpe en las piernas, bueno me despido hasta pronto.

i think in the police they still have some sort of wrestling technique in kendo match

I'm not an authority in this matter, but when the U.S. occupied the Japanese territory, banned the practice of the martial arts, specially kenjutsu... then, some years after, the japanese stablished the sports rules of kendo (about the middle 50's) and even the change of name from kenjutsu to kendo. As you may see... the actual kendo is only for sport, and the efectiveness of sword fight exists only in kenjutsu.
