  • We never quit growing in graciousness, but we are to quit sinning.

"If" we sin we have an advocate. Jesus is our advocate, thank God for that.

Christianity has made many things into terrible sins that are not sin. Many of the things we think are sin are really just a lack of graciousness, we may have spoken sharply, or did not say thank you when we should have, etc.

  • Dear Savana, I have people tell me we cannot quit sinning right at the first. They say "We can be a Christian and yet we will keep sinning until we get stronger in God."

The verse they use mentions the need to grow in grace, but it goes on to say why. So we will not fall. The point I am making is that to be a Christian we must first repent. That means we turn away from sin and do so through God's grace and by faith we quit sinning. Sin is to be the exception, not the rule.
