Amazing stuff...almost Verdian in scale. Quite chromatic by Glass standards. The ladders look pretty stable to me:-)

Saw the San Francisco Opera performance of this opera. It was one of those evenings . . . suddenly you look around and realize you and the entire opera house audience is on its feet cheering, and crying and clapping and not quite believing the wonderfulness of what you've seen.
