What do you use it for these days?

@St3aming nothing much anymore to be honest, use the weather portion sometimes but not much

how far can something like this reach?

@epluribusunom well just depending on the antenna you use, the right conditions, and how much power you put out it could reach about 5 - 10miles maybe ,this is just a handytalky so probably around five with the rubberducky antenna and with a base antenna it would cover more ground but not much more

I think it's better to go back to police scanners and CB radios's then depending on cell phones all the time. If the crud hits the fan we'll be going to Ham.
