Normally, the Orthodox worship is made standing and not sitting down. That's why you should not find many pews or seats excepted for old people, pregnant women and so on. However, in some westernized places, there are pews : it is the case in Greece or in Greek churches in the US

When it comes to headcoverings it is optional in the Ukranian Orthodox Church. Meaning depending upon how liberal the priest is, the teachings that he received in seminary and actually the point of view of women by said priest. The headcovering is an outward sign of our faith signifying the pure heart, mind, body and soul. The headcovering is for those whom are married or chaste. It is not required for tourists nor is it required to recieve the Eucharist either. It is an outward sign of faith.

Actually, if you read Saint Paul, confirmed by the Saint John Chrysostomus and Saint Paulinus of Nola, you see that headcovering for women wwith a veil is mandatory for spiritual reason (a question a angels). In traditional orthodox area, it is still observd but actually the orthodoxy that I could observe in the US and Western Europe is everything but traditional.

No, most people don't sit down during the ceremony, unless they're small kids/old/sick/pregnant etc...and yeah, that pink dress is disgusting IMHO

in russian orthodox churches we do not sit. however, we do have benches on the side for elderly people that cannot stand for a long time. our masses are very long. standing and kneeling is an ancient tradition.

yes, i must agree with you, the pink dress is not exactly the proper attire to wear for this occasion.
