A pictorial slide show showing my Las Vegas backpiece tattoo taking shape. The tattoo was done by award winning tattooist Tom Sugar at Alan's Tattoo/Global Tattoo at Moreton on The Wirral. The tattoo took 1 year and over 40 hours tattoo time spread over 15 sessions and a whole lot of pain.

@iainh23 I'm a big boxing fan myself, I've never seen a really good boxing tattoo, It's always the obligatory hanging gloves or a bulldog with boxing gloves on!! I'd like a sleeve maybe on my leg from calf to knee of my favourite boxers..... Not too sure yet that's why I'm keeping up the Jap theme for now.

@heatedblanket : Enjoy the pain :D Tom is an awesome artist and has worked on both myself and my wife and at some point I plan on getting more ink from him. Also what is your piece based on??? and you should post some pics when its done, I love seeing high quality ink and Tom's work is some of the best I have seen!

I have a Japanese style sleeve and I'm getting a Japanese hanya mask on my ribs and onto my chest and stomach, I'll post pics when it's complete.... Saving for a house so the missus isn't impressed. HAHAHA

@heatedblanket : Tattoos run expensive but its there for life so I say get the best you can for the money and on that score I think we both know Tom's work is worth every penny. The ink sounds good and I am a big fan of the Hanya masks, they look awesome when done well but wouldnt really fit in with the work I personally have but combined with a Japanese style sleeve and I expect it will look superb. I want to get more work on my arms and maybe a boxing portrait of my hero Henry Armstrong next
