I've heard logging is nowadays not the main problem in the Amazon. A large contributer to deforestation are the cattle ranching(meat production), and agribussiness, which largely consists out of soy farms/companies, which is used for cattle feed in the west and also, since recently, China.

I gotta agree with sirraha, amazonas is a beutiful rainforrest with all sorts of animal and plants

But there are idiots now days that are destroying the rainforrest to just getting a piece of wood or construte more buldings

I fear that one day amazonas will be gone for ever like in thailand

If that happend people will may do something and i will visit the place one last time :)
