the only reason pot is a gateway drug is because most people have to buy marijuana on the black market from the same people that more than likely have the ability to get, or possibly already have other drugs.

Sorry, Bill. Your argument became invalid when you said you don't smoke weed. People who don't smoke weed tend to not read any facts about it. It is NOT a gateway drug any more than sex is a gateway into raping.

I know plenty of people who've smoked and have never touched any other drugs. I myself have tried other drugs and while I did love Ecstasy, I never really liked the others I did try.That includes alcohol. I don't even smoke weed anymore, but I'll always have a love for it.

The first drug 99% of us ever take that alters our perception is actually caffeine. Caffeine is the true first drug experience for most of us. The idea that weed is the gateway is silly. Booze is our first major intoxicating experience almost always. The legal idea of weed being a gateway..hanging our with drug dealers, etc, has nothing to do with weed itself, but only the war on drugs that makes it illegal.....It's not the weeds fault.

@TRAGICxCITYxB I started a a very serious coke habit in my teens, lasted for a good 8 months and i spent my whole wage on weed and coke during that time. It was first offered to me by the bloke i got my weed off.

An example is when you start smoking with the psychedelic fad who are into a 60's, which I did, you'll most likely end up going up into stronger hallucinogens or just staying on herb. Maybe the cool kids just to be cool. that's the worst kind in fact, they'll get high of horse shit on a jar if they don't have anything else, so you have to watch out for people like that. Weed is dangerous in the hands of a dumbass. Just like booze, it either leads to brawls and sluts or a great night life.

The thing that makes weed a gateway drug, because it truly is, is the environment it will lead you to for the simple fact of being illegal... Just like in the 20's prohibition, if you wanted some beer, you'd most likely end up in a clandestine brothel to drink and more than likely end up doing other illegal things. Weed's the same with its prohibition, it sometimes takes you to shady people, so you really have to watch with who you smoke. I say it from experience, any cannabis smoker knows this.
