My TR7V8 racing at Oulton Park in 2005. After problems in qualifying, I started from the back. But was still suffering with the rear axle moving laterally. After the race it had moved 4 inches to the left.

  • The last TR7 that you caught looked like he was putting down more power exiting the corners but you were still outbraking him. Most likely due to your axle being out. Kept waiting for you to dive inside on a corner out brake him then try to get to the next corner ahead of him. Great video.

  • How very dare you... I outbraked Martyn plainly 'cos I was far better on the brakes ;-)

It was a good battle, which I enjoyed a lot. Glad you enjoyed the video.

    Mike...

  • Great video. Got the 2nd half of it? I think I was there for this one. Great battle at the front between Graham Miller and Joe Henderson. The TR6 won. Hugh Maund having a moment there I see :))

  • I do have the rest of the video, but there is only something like 2-3 laps left and the next place guys are too far ahead to catch. So I finished it where it is. If you want to see the rest I'm more than happy to add it on. I'm still working on the other videos, hopefully will have a few more soon., Mike...

  • Post more videos, We can never get enough of the V8. Great watching you run past the others

  • I wish it wqs really that simple. If I hadn't started from the back I wouldn't have had that easy a day. But it was a great deal of fun :-)

  • Good job Mike :)

  • There's nothing nicer then the all alloy V8!!!

  • The video would not have been near so good if you had started up front. It was the passing of the cars and trying to guess what you were passing that added to the fun

  • I've got loads of footage of races, but I've just never got around to uploading them and converting them for the computer.

I'll see if I can do some more.

  • Spec of engine is pretty simple, we're limitied by the race regulations. It's a Rover V8 3.9, original block and heads. worked on obviously. It's running an offenhauser dual plane manifold with a 600cfm vacuum secondary holley. All this with a Kent 248 Cam. Max power is at 6750RPM with 247bhp, at the wheels tho.

The car itself runs Bilsteins at the front and Ledas at the rear in standard location. Springs still on the trailing arms too. LSD and running a 3.45 diff.

    Thanks, Mike...
