  • Do you think it would be harder to do miniature molds for dollhouse china (1/12 scale) or is the process pretty much the same? I would just buy the molds, but it seems that Duncan doesn't make them anymore :-/

  • @wpederson1 . I think you would just need a finer clay...

  • Nice video. Could you please clarify as to how many days you have to wait until the mold is ready to be used? I´ve heard for the mold to last longer you should wait up to 10 days. Any advice? Thanks!

  • @sisafokker agreed yes

  • To shave off edges I use a piece of wide snapped off hac saw blade which has really nice fine serated edges and this gradually controls the contouring shaving.- then finish with abrasive paper or dish scourer pad and rinse off as usual.

  • What do you fill the mold with plaster or clay? Are there clay molds? I get so confused about this stuff

  • @canaan1967 fill with slipor liquid clay... leave for 30minutesthen pour out... it leaves aslip of say 6-10mmfresh clay lining. let that dry leathery shrinks a little then pops out...

  • But what do you do with the mold?

  • @sisafokker Good to leave it to dry naturally for the first time. 10 days would be v good in normal warm conditions.

  • @MelKH001 Yes you can... you can make a mould from anything really as long as you attend to the undercuts. Also you must use a good release agent.

  • If you dont have a leather hard poured piece to mold from and only an actual glaze fired piece, can you still make a mold from it?
