Some neighborhood kids, Brenda and Christian, came to our door selling goodies and were fascinated by the fish in our aquariums. Chumi, our big Golden Retriever, immediately arrived and Brenda couldn't take her eyes off him or resist petting him. Chumi was equally smitten. It was love at first hug...

i love your videos...... the fish surprise me ... local fish, or tropical fish??? from a pet store??? you are near a larger city that has pet stores with tropical fish. that just seems out of place for a small rural community. but as i have found when travelling, things are much different in reality then what we have envisioned or been led to believe.

There is a large river that flows through our little town plus too crystal clear spring-fed creeks at the edge of town. About half the fish in our aquariums come from there. The other half come from a wonderful big tropical fish store in a city about 20 minutes drive away. The same is true of the plants in our tanks - half are artificial ones from the store, the rest were harvested from our creeks. This area is in fact the tropics and the perfect place for aquarium nuts like us...
