On Saturday, September 15, 2001 -- four days after the attack on America -- I grabbed my camcorder and high-tailed it into Manhattan with my wife. Like so many other New Yorkers, we were inexplicably drawn to the "scene of the crime". With a heavy heart, and an apprehensive hand, I just began shooting everything I saw. I simply wanted a record for my kids, so that they would never forget what happened on that cool September morning.
For ten years this video has remained untouched in a safe collecting dust. So on this 10th Anniversary of September 11th, I finally mustered up enough courage to compile the footage into a short tribute. Not a tribute to a building, but to people. A tribute not only for the rescue workers, and innocent souls who perished, but for the people of New York City. The average citizens, who banded together -- putting all their petty tribulations aside -- to honor the fallen, console one another, support the effort, and -- unintentionally -- teach the world a little about American resilience, compassion and humanity.
On September 11th evil and terror reigned, but on September 15th humanity conquered all.
